Fellowship in Advanced Thoracic Interventional Endoscopy

The CHUM Endoscopic Tracheo-Bronchial and Oesophageal Center (CETOC), a section of the Division of Thoracic Surgery at the University of Montreal is offering a fully-funded one year clinical and research fellowship in advanced interventional thoracic endoscopy. CETOC endoscopically evaluates and treats a large volume of patients on a daily basis with diseases of the tracheobronchial tree, mediastinum, and esophagus/stomach. Multiple clinical research projects are underway in technology and technique development and assessment. Applicants should be fully certified thoracic surgeons and have completed an accredited training program in thoracic surgery.

Skills to be mastered include:
• Convex EBUS / Radial EBUS (Mini-Probe)
• Convex EUS / Radial EUS
• Esophageal Stenting
• Tracheo-Bronchial Stenting
• Endoscopic treatment of tracheo-esophageal fistulae and broncho-pleural fistulae
• Endobronchial / Endoesophageal Tumor Ablation, Resection
• Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR) of the Esophagus and Stomach
• Airway / Esophageal / Pyloric Dilation
• EBUS Mini-Probe biopsy and targeting of peripheral pulmonary nodules
• Rigid Bronchoscopy / Rigid Esophagoscopy
• Cyberknife Fiducial Insertion
• Chest Ultrasound, Ultrasound-guided pleural procedures
• Esophageal Manometry and Impedance
• Esophageal ph Probe Measurement and Analysis
